So, I recently looked into Bitcoin’s network fees exploding with the implementation of Runes at the halving.
So if you missed it, what it essentially means is that miners who should have seen their block rewards divided by two with the halving, have instead tripled their income through fees alone.
Before: 6.25 BTC block rewards
After: 3.125 BTC block rewards + 18.8 BTC from fees = 21.925 BTC
Guess the halving was cancelled, we might rename it the ‘tripling’ now. 😂
Some degens are saying this could be sustained for 3-6 months, what do you think?
